Team Member Spotlight | Q&A with Eileen Valliere

Q: Who is your favorite author?

A: Maeve Binchy. Her books are set in Ireland, which is where all my grandparents are from. I’ve visited there, and I love the country and its culture. The books are about family and many of them include characters from prior books.

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes?

A: “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it, and hang on.” -Theodore Roosevelt

(Just hope it’s a fisherman’s knot!)

There are ups and downs in life, but you have to make the best of every situation and keep trying to do your best.

Q: What is your favorite season?

A: Spring. It’s when everything comes alive.

Q: What is your favorite activity, outdoor or indoor?

A: Gardening is my favorite outdoor activity. I am so amazed every year when the plants actually come back to life. My favorite indoor activity is reading, especially when my cat curls up on my lap.

Q: What is your favorite form of exercise?

A: Walking.

Q: What is the most-played song on your playlist?

A: Celtic Woman’s “Amazing Grace.” That song supports my faith. Hearing it gives me comfort and peace, especially when I’m stressed.

Q: What’s your favorite color and why?

A: Pink, because it’s a happy, cheerful color.

Q: How do you like to spend your free time?

A: With my kids and grandkids. My family is my life. I feel so blessed to have three wonderful daughters and, now, to have amazing grandchildren that I get to spend a lot of time with. When I am with them, that is my only focus, and all other worries fall away.

Q: If your life could have a mission statement, what would it be?

A: Do your best at whatever you undertake. Never stop learning, and treat everyone with kindness.
